The writing of light!

The photographic process was optical in the first place.
The dark room (camera obscuro) was pictured by Leonardo DA VINCI in 1519.

Later it became a chemical process.
The first to capture a picture by exposure of light was NI9PCE in 1827.
His work was pursued by Louis DAGUERRE and William Henry FOX TALBOT was the first to capture an image on paper (1839).

From then on two processes were used:
the Daguerreotype and the Calotype.

All later developments refined those processes and gave us modern photography.
