A chromosome is a rod-shaped structure in a cell nucleus.
It carries the genes and determines gender and other characteristics inherited by an organism from its parents.
The normal human body cell contains 46 chromosomes arranged in 23 pairs.
X and Y are two famous chromosomes.
They are responsible for gender.
