The drumms of war
are rolling over the lands
and tears of many
on many more cheeks

and pain
in many hearts
and fear

And hope
as a shaky light
burning for a better day
after tomorrow

When steps are heard again
in the pathway
bringing all soldiers back

When guns are heard no more
and battlefields turned into
evening lands

And life
as an eternal gift
returning back
to normal

Peace at last!
Free at last!
